Betty Rae Poppo, Principal, CLU, ChFC
Betty Rae has traveled to some of the most far-flung and magnificent places in the world, returning home each time to advise her clients about how they can live their dreams. She should know; she’s doing it.
Betty works the way she travels, always forging a new path. After a career in education and a short stint working for a large financial firm, Betty set out on her own in 1982 and joined forces with Pat Grenier in 2004 to form BRP|Grenier Financial Services.
Early in her career, Betty obtained both her CLU and ChFC from the American College. Thirty-three years later, she’s guiding clients to live as fully as they can on the resources they have. She often repeats her mantra, “Spend your money. Don’t let the money spend you.” That translates to using your money to obtain what you want—not frittering it away on impulse purchases. An intellectually curious and vibrant person, Betty is passionate about helping people make wise financial decisions that can lead to personal freedom. And she’s humbled and grateful to walk alongside her clients in both their most exciting and sorrowful times.
Betty has published articles and has lectured on the subject of financial planning in communities throughout the US and Canada. She holds a BA in English and history from The State University of New York at Albany and an MEd from Springfield College. She enjoys spending time with her three daughters and their husbands, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Betty is hard-pressed to choose her favorite travel destination, but the Himalayas, Antarctica, and Burma top the list.
